The Importance of Scheduling

Introduction:

Oftentimes, kids and young adults around the world have tons of work to complete in a given week. It can be exhausting, exhausting, and even damaging at times. Many people do not know how to arrange their thoughts and often succumb to tiredness and laziness. While taking breaks and ignoring certain tasks may be beneficial, the necessity to schedule your work and create a distinct schedule for you to refer to is the key reason for many people around the world to maximize their work potential.

Laziness:

The elephant in the room is laziness. It can come in various forms, but the same result and effect of it occurs when an individual does not feel like performing a task they must do. Everyone experiences different levels of this phenomenon. There are times when being lazy can be helpful. It imposes positives such as preventing overload, and the limitation it places on overthinking. However, it also imposes negatives such as wasted time, a buildup of work, and several lost opportunities.

Procrastination:

Similar to laziness, procrastination is often the neglect of an important task. However, unlike laziness, procrastination is the knowing of a certain activity that may benefit you, but you choose not to do it. Laziness can sometimes be a result of carelessness and lack of interest, but procrastination is the result of a lack of drive to actually attempt something.

Scheduling:

Scheduling can help mitigate the issues mentioned in the previous segments above. Firstly, scheduling helps with time management and the insistence of the user to perform. Think of a time you probably should have done work and chose not to complete it. When you schedule a block period for 30 minutes sometime in your day, you create a mental fortitude in your mind, and you feel more inclined to utilize that block positively. However, some people may still be lingering upon procrastination, and we’ll share tips to help mitigate those behaviors in the next section.

Secondly, scheduling helps create a regulated time frame for you to complete work, and create time to spend with friends and family. Before creating a schedule, you may feel wack and disorganized because you wouldn’t know when to spend time with friends, and the proper moment to finish your studies. There may be one moment you are watching a YouTube video, and the next you play a video game. Creating blocks and regulated timeframes in your schedule allows you to designate certain tasks to certain timeframes. Here is a sample schedule

  • 8 am to 4 pm - School

  • 4:00 - 4:30 - Food/Shower/Rest

  • 4:30 -5:30- Study

  • 5:30-6:30 - Workout/Sport

  • 6:30-7:00 - Videogames/Hang out with friends

  • 7:00-8:00 - Study

  • 8:00-8:30 - Dinner

  • 8:30-9:30 - Extra Work/Study

  • 9:30 - 10:30 Relax/Watch TV

This is rather a more intense schedule, but it can be a good blueprint for constructing your own. Ideally, you would want a period for rest and workouts because these allow your brain to rejuvenate and maximize your health. Minimum of two study periods(time can vary). The second one can be used for refreshing the mind.

These actions allow for you to maximize your output, as well as keep your body and mind from fluctuating certain moods because you are maintaining your sanity. The immediate rest after an intense session allows your mind to relax just in time until the next study period starts. It is important to not scroll or watch high-dopamine content immediately after a workout or a study session because your brain is already combusted, and further filling it with content will affect recall. Try to go for a light walk or meditate for a couple of minutes before you go to sleep, as it allows your mind to enter a calm state.

Conclusion:

Overall, the importance of schedules is widely undermined in modern society. People tend to procrastinate and not create a regulated schedule to keep themselves in check. The drawbacks of not creating certain timeframes for different tasks are damaging and can cause serious impacts on your health. It is drastically insistment upon a person to take proper measures, and to create a plan for themselves to follow on weekdays to maximize output.
