Introduction:
3, 2, 1, and the clock has run down. The ball is bouncing off the rim, clanking against all the different sides of the red box, and it finally goes in. We definitely thought to ourselves, “Wow, I wish I were in that scenario.”
Sports:
Sports have many different colloquial meanings, but the most generic definition is the physical exertion in a certain style for a goal. In simpler terms, utilizing your body to achieve something. Sports have developed over the past several centuries, and hundreds of different variants and styles have been spread across the globe. We’ve heard about the popular ones, such as basketball, football(American football), soccer(American pronunciation), and tennis. They all have similarities, differences, pros, and cons, but a universal trait they share is exercise.
Exercise:
Exercise can be boring for some of us; it involves physically moving our bodies in ways we feel uncomfortable, and we tend to push our lungs to their limits. Sprinting feels like our lungs are slowly deteriorating, and weight lifting feels like our muscles are about to tear open. If we eliminate all of the pain, the different mindsets, and certain motivations that cause us to exercise, the benefits of exercising are shocking. Firstly, it helps decrease stress. Stress is often a killer in terms of psychological impact. It feels like there is a constant maze in our minds, and we never feel at peace when our stress levels are high. But working out mitigates these feelings. It may not fully cure stress, but it reduces it a reasonable amount to where we feel enlightened with ourselves. In addition, exercise builds our body mentally and physically. There are dozens of different research papers published on exercise and its impacts on the human body. Some of these include improved memory, neuromuscular connection, and adaptability. Exercising should be a mandatory activity for basically everyone, but some people may find it boring to carry out a repetitive task such as exercise.
Playing a Sport:
At Hope Through English, we encourage our learners to take a break from studying and learning and to step outside and enjoy the environment. Play soccer with friends, or shoot some baskets with your neighbors. The importance of relaxing and playing games with your friends is as important as learning anything. Sports relax our minds and spark different levels of thinking that may be applied in other fields. Sports are seriously mind-bogglingly beneficial for all people. Young, middle-aged, or old, sports impose certain advantages that are crucial for everyday life.
Conclusion:
The next time you feel bored, think to yourself
What if I spend one year learning a sport?
I should try watching tutorials on how to shoot a basketball.
I should ask a friend how to play goalkeeper.
These thoughts help push you outside of your boundaries and comfort zone because it challenges you to obtain something. Awards and Goals are not given; they are earned through hard work and dedication. We need to encourage ourselves as people to strive for perfection and hope to be better than the day before. Sports fuel competitiveness and improve your drive to better yourself.
Instead of watching several hours of Netflix, try to learn how to throw a spiral in football. Research, experiment, join a club, find a coach, simple things like this will improve your overall well-being because the human body is meant to be active. Nowadays, we all live a sedentary lifestyle, and we sit on our chairs playing games for several hours at a time. Our muscles are crying because they are not meant to be jitter clicking in a simulator. They are meant to be used outside.
